Charges dropped against former officer in the Detention Center boxing case SILVER CITY – Charges against a former county Grant Center detention officer who allegedly forced prisoners to competition in boxing matches in the fall of 2008 were abandoned due a lack of evidence, an assistant district attorney said Wednesday.
