Power Charger

If it works, is it acceptable to use another brand of mains charger for a laptop?

I have a laptop Gateway but the Power Charger malfunctioned and I am using a spare Charger Toshiba I had to save on $ 80 a new bridge would have cost me. Am I doing damage to my laptop?

Your laptop must continue to work long if the voltage is the same charger that the battery used on your laptop.
