Who is better a Jvc Everio or Sony Handycam?

Just wondering what video camera would be better to get, because I had buy a new camera but I'm not sure I want. I want a camera for travel so good zoom, clear resolution for the film, video, high quality, long battery life, easy to use and also a good quality cameras to shoot in the dark both … So I was thrown over the JVC Everio 30GB with an F1.2 lens (hence the film a good night) or one with optical zoom 32x or a Sony Handy cam that takes Mini DV tapes and higher image quality, but the drawback is that it uses MiniDV tapes. In your opinion which would better?

Any you can buy with all the necessary options, because now, JVC has improved themself in electronics and they are competing on Sony and Panasonic as well. I have good experience using JVC products.
