why isn't the battery of my work for my new MacBook?

I bought a new MacBook, and the batter does not load. it only works When the adapter is connected. When the adapter is disconnected it off. and he told the taskbar above, this battery recharge. Could be a dud battery or something in the Charging System. I had a similar problem with a new macbook last year. They just gave me a new battery and that fixed it. Take it back and get it fixed.
