Nissan Shoot lithium-ion development
Nissan € ™ s CEO Carlos Ghosn recently claimed that the Japanese automaker working on developing a lithium-Ion Batteries for automotive application. That batteries are considered the key to development of practical electric cars as well as gas electric hybrid vehicles.
Ghosn also said Nissan and its Alliance partner Renault are developing a car for $ 3,000. The econocar will be introduced in the Indian Market. It is expected that Tata Motors, Nissan € ™ s fiercest rivals in India, will establish the first car worth $ 3,000. Nissan will soon follow Tata unveiled the car after Low prices.
Demand for fuel vehicles and environmentally friendly has led car manufacturers to develop advanced batteries for automotive applications such as hybrid vehicles are the most popular green. The lithium-ion batteries are commonly used on electronic gadgets currents such as laptops and Cell Phones.
A lithium-Ion Battery weighs less than a battery nickel-Metal Hydride is now used by hybrid vehicles. In addition to being lighter than nickel-metal hydride batteries Li-ion batteries can store more power. The problem which automobile manufacturers are facing is to design a Li-ion battery that can be held at the request of the rigorous application of the automobile.
Nissan is currently lagging behind Japanese rivals Toyota and Honda in terms of sales of hybrid vehicles. In fact, it was only earlier this year Nissan has started selling a hybrid vehicle in the form of the Nissan Altima Hybrid. But the Altima Hybrid uses a hybrid designed by Toyota. Nissan € ™ s own hybrid vehicle should be brought to market by the end of the decade.
Ghosn believes that if they have succeeded in developing a practical Li-ion battery for hybrid vehicles, they can bridge the gap between them and Honda and Toyota. â € œWe continue on the lithium-ion batteries. We believe that for us is a competitive advantage, "said Mr. Ghosn â € in a recent interview. â € œWe have a lot of technology is this area, and we believe this will be very useful not only for hybrids but also for electric cars.â €
Although demand for gas-electric hybrid vehicles is rising, Mr Ghosn said that Nissan aims to develop a vehicle fully Electric powered in the future. And they fail to develop an electric vehicle if they have a device for energy storage Advanced. The Li-ion battery that Nissan is developing will complement other Nissan parts, even small title = "Suspension Nissan socket"> Nissan sleeve suspension.
â € œIf you have an efficient battery for a hybrid, why not go all the way and go for electric cars? It has zero emissions of something, â € said Mr. Ghosn.
Electric cars are the solution to pollution and growing problem of rising gasoline prices. A problem, however, that carmakers are facing is the cost of production of electric cars. Another problem is the issue of recharging an electric vehicle € ™ s Battery Pack. Although these vehicles can be charged to connect a making household, it takes time before the battery is fully charged. Another problem for manufacturers is how the public reacts to electric cars.
â € œWe said from the beginning, we need to develop all technologies, â € said Ghosn stressed that the hybrid vehicle is the only solution to the problems faced by the automotive industry. â € œWe can not afford to squeeze one of them: hybrid, fuel cell, electric, diesel, biofuel. Because we still do not know how the market will react.â €
