Another way to load the original DS, without replacing the battery?

DS original my friend died and I want to help fix it without having to replace the battery, is there a way?

The battery in a ds the same principle as a regular member of a dual battery. If he is dead, he died. replace it. You should be able to play the DS using only the Power Adapter, though. If you can not, I guess the DS is dead and it will beyond simply replacing the battery.
